My Ph.D. in Mathematics is from the University of Texas at Austin, 1977. My dissertation was Stable Homeomorphisms of the Pseudo-Arc under the direction of R. H. Bing.
Most of my research has been in the area of continuum theory, especially the study of hereditarily indecomposable continua.
Some of my graduate students and their thesis topics include the following.
One of my results is a new characterization of the pseudo-arc in terms of a certain mapping property. I was assisted in this work by my collie dog Lucky.
