| Raegan Higgins lectured on the time scales calculus at Texas Southern University on April 30, 2012. The talk was part of the Dr. Llyaron L. Clarkson Research Seminar series. The audience consisted of undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty members from TSU and the University of Houston. |
| Clyde F. Martin, Horn Professor in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics, has been selected as a Fellow of the American Statistical Association. The awards ceremony for recognizing the newly selected fellows will be held on 31 July 2012 at the Joint Statistical Meetings in San Diego, CA. |
| Kent Pearce attended the Mathematical Association of America Texas Sectional Meeting in Dallas and gave a presentation titled, "Mentoring Paradigms in Undergraduate STEM Scholarship Program" at Texas Tech University. |
| Wayne Lewis attended the Spring Topology and Dynamical Systems Conference 2012, hosted by Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. He is one of the two U.S. co-organizers of the conference and chair of the Organizing Committee for the Special Session in Continuum Theory. |
