We have reserved blocks of rooms at three hotels in Lubbock for conference participants.   Two hotels are only a block from each other and both located in the northern part of the downtown area, east of campus.    See the maps of this area and of the region between these hotels and campus. 

Each block of rooms is reserved as "AMS Meeting" for the period April 7 through April 11.  The hotels should be contacted locally to obtain the rates below for rooms in the reserved blocks.

FOUR POINTS SHERATON:   505 Ave. Q, Lubbock, Texas 79401, Telephone (806) 747-0171, Fax (806) 747-9243.  Group rate of $58.00 per night plus 13% local tax.  Doubles and kings reserved.  Hotel provides complimentary 24 hour airport shuttle.  Near Civic Center and Buddy Holly Walk of Fame.  Approximately one mile east of campus.  Blocking of unreserved rooms will be dropped March 8th.

LA QUINTA INN:  601 Avenue Q, Lubbock, TX 79401, Telephone (806) 763-9441, Fax (806) 747-9325.  Group rate of $56.00 per night plus 13% local tax.  One block south of Four Points.  Block of unreserved rooms will be dropped March 31st.

Note that there are two La Quinta Inns in Lubbock.  The one above, where we have rooms blocked is identified as the La Quinta Inn -  Civic Center. There is also the La Quinta Inn West - Medical Center, 4115 Brownfield Highway, southwest of campus.  This is a comparable distance from the conference site and has comparable facilities and rates, but persons staying there or at other hotels will be responsible for their own transportation.

HAWTHORN SUITES:  2515 19th St., Lubbock, TX 79410, Telephone (806) 765-8900, Fax (806) 765-5322.  Group rate of $80 per night plus 13% local tax for queen suite.  Located across street (19th Street, six-lane US 62, Texas 114) from southeast corner of campus.  Blocking of unreserved rooms will be dropped March 7th.

In each baggage claim area at the airport is a panel with hotel information and phones for calling shuttles or taxis.  Rates by either Yellow Cab or Royal Coach Towne Car Service from the airport to the hotels or campus should be about $12.00 per person. Both usually have cars waiting at the airport.
