CROCKETT, A TEXAS COLLIE
 






Crockett was born Christmas morning, December 25, 1999 at Southland Kennels near Petersburg, Tennessee.

Crockett arrived in Texas the afternoon of May 14, 2000 and lived for 12 years in Lubbock, Texas. On March 21, 2012 Crockett passed away after 14 months of progressive muscle and nerve degeneracy in his rear. He is dearly missed and well remembered.

Crockett's historical namesake had the personal motto "Be sure you're right, then go ahead."  The canine Crockett has adopted it for himself.
 
 
 

Crockett's human dad, Wayne Lewis, maintains a website devoted to Albert Payson Terhune and the Sunnybank Collies.
 

DogLit-H was an electronic listserve devoted to dogs in literature, which was started by and was moderated by, Wayne Lewis.
