The mini-symposium is primarily
sponsored by Prof. Frits Ruymgaart’s Paul Whitfield Endowed Horn Professorship
and by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Horn Professor Ruymgaart
generously provides funds from his endowed professorship to support
distinguished speakers. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics pays other
organizational expenses such as advertising and transportation to Palo Duro
Canyon State Park. The Air Force Office of Scientific Research is providing
partial
support for the distinguished and early career speakers.
On Saturday (November 11), a local sight-seeing tour is arranged to
Palo Duro Canyon State Park ,
approximately two hours away from Lubbock. In this social session the
participants, especially the graduate students and early-career
researchers, will have the opportunity to visit and interact with the
speakers in an informal atmosphere.
