Text: Stewart, Calculus, Early Trancendentals, 5th edition
We will cover chapters 13 - 16.

The final exam will have no questions on the Stokes' Theorem and the Divergence Theorem.

Reminders: Students who have conflicting finals with Math2263 need to go to Vincent 115 to REGISTER so that they can take the exam earlier.
Math Club: Monday, October 10, at 12:10 in vincent 120. Victor Reiner, a math professor specializing in combinatorics, will be speaking on "Counting faces of polyhedra". We will have pizza and pop, as always.

Competitions in Mathematics

Calculators: Calculators are not allowed during examinations or quizzes. However, students may use them for homework problems.

Grading Policy: There will be three exams during the semester, and the Final Exam on Thursday, December 15. Each of the three exams will count for 15 % of the grade, the Final Exam for 40 % of the grade. In addition there will be quizzes in recitation given each week that there is not an exam. The quizzes will count for 15 % of the grade. There will be no homework assigned nor collected. The students are encouraged to work on the suggested problems below and go to the recitations regularly.

Make-up Exam Policy: There will be no make-up exams.

Advices: Come to class and recitation regularly, work hard with positive attitude toward the course (and mathematics in general). Ask questions and get help from instructor or teaching assistants to master the material quickly. Do not wait too late until the midterms or final exam.
Cheating is never tolerated and severe punishments will apply. (It is even too ashamed to think about it.)
