The Fourth International Conference on
Mathematical Modeling and Analysis of
Populations in Biological Systems:

Mathematical Modeling of Complex Dynamics
from Cells to Ecosystems

The Fourth International Conference on Mathematical Modeling and Analysis of Populations in Biological Systems (ICMA IV) will be held on the campus of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas on October 4-6, 2013.

This conference builds upon the success of the previous three conferences that were hosted by the University of Arizona in 2007, University of Alabama at Huntsville in 2009, and Trinity University in 2011.

The conference theme is mathematical modeling of complex dynamics from cells to ecosystems. Focus areas include:

  • climate change and range shifts,
  • emerging infectious diseases,
  • cell signaling pathways,
  • chemotaxis,
  • macroecology.

Contributed talks and Minisymposia in these and related areas are welcome.

Conference Deadlines:

  • Minisymposium proposals are due AUGUST 10, 2013.
  • Applications for financial support are due AUGUST 17, 2013. Late applications will be considered based on availability of funding.
  • Early registration deadline is SEPTEMBER 7, 2013. Early registration fees for students and postdocs are $30 and for faculty are $150. Late registration fees for students and postdocs are $50 and for faculty are $200.

Announcements:

ICMA V in 2015 will be held at the University of Western Ontario

CALL FOR PAPERS:

The Journal of Biological Dynamics (JBD) has agreed to publish a special issue devoted to ICMA IV.  All submissions will be peer-reviewed according to instructions on the JBD website.

JBD is now an open access journal. Taylor & Francis has agreed, however, to waive publishing fees for this special issue.

If you are interested in submitting a manuscript for consideration,  please do so at: http://www.tandf.co.uk/journals/JBD.

IMPORTANT: Be sure to indicate that your manuscript is intended for "Special Issue ICMA IV" and select "Discretionary Waiver". The submission deadline is February 1, 2014.
