"Opportunities in Scientific Computing with Emphasis on Atomistic Simulations"

Scientific Computing is an interdisciplinary area of study, interfacing computer science, applied mathematics, and the sciences, engineering, and medical and health sciences. There are many strengths in Scientific Computing at Texas Tech and the topic which will be emphasized is this seminar is "atomistic simulations". The three projects which will be described are: (1) atomic-level mechanisms of organic reactions; (2) fragmentation of peptide ions in surface-induced dissociation; and (3) heat transfer across nanoscale interfaces.
