Grading Policy
There will be 3
exams given in class. Each exam counts as 30% of your final grade. A missed exam gives a
score of zero and there are no makeup exams other than the final exam --- although, under extreme (and
well documented) circumstances, it may be possible to make arrangements to take
a test in advance.
There will be approximately 15 online homework assignments using WebWork. The two lowest homework scores will be dropped and the remaining scores will be averaged to produce 1 score. So the homework will count as 10% of your final grade.
The final exam
will consist of two separate hour exams producing 2 scores. These two scores can be used to replace previous lower test scores.
Therefore the final exam provides the opportunity to make up or replace up to 2 previous lower scores. This final is a comprehensive final.
After the final you will have 5 test I will take your best 3 scores out of the 5 scores. Each of these will count 30% of your final grade, the remaining 10% comes from your homework.
