The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Texas Tech University is fortunate to have a variety of undergraduate scholarship funds established in memory of past members of the department, in honor of current and past members of the department, and in honor of the donors. We encourage donations to the various funds. Please contact Dr. Monty Strauss, monty.strauss@ttu.edu, for information on making donations.
The Department has a generous amount of financial aid available, in addition to the money that comes from general university sources. Most of our financial aid is offered to mathematics majors based on academic achievement, but some is based on financial need, and some is directed toward people preparing to be mathematics teachers. There is also an annual award for undergraduate research. Students are considered by the departmental scholarship committee for all scholarships for which they qualify. In addition, the South Plains Math Scholars Program supports several incomming freshmen with financial need by providing scholarships worth up to $10,000 per year as well as mentoring support. If you have any questions about the South Plains Math Scholars Program, or you'd like to let us know you might be interested in applying, please fill out our Information Form.
