School Visits

Dr. Dwyer makes regular school visits as part of his outreach role. These visits include presentations on mathematical games and motivational talks on careers and college mathematics. These visits increase the department’s profile in the local schools and provide motivation and materials for K-12 teachers and students. Several MS students also visit schools and present college level mathematics as part of their thesis work. The purpose is to supplement the existing instruction and also to study the effects of college level instruction at the K-12 level. This work is supported by a Research Enhancement Fund grant from the College of Arts and Sciences.
